One of the company’s corporate quality objectives is to support the communities in which we work and live. Amyx and its employees continue to meet this important objective. Some of the more recent support for community programs are listed below.

Backpacks for School is another program that we have done over the last several years and continue to partner with New Hope Housing Milestones Program. This August we bought and filled 16 backpacks for local area kids with everything they needed as they headed back to school. Our employees were so generous that we also were able to provide boxes of additional supplies to replenish throughout the school year and to also provide for kids in need that may not have been part of the program.

On Saturday, August 22nd, our team in O’Fallon, IL participated in the Meals for Millions packing event. This event supports families in the Missouri where the percentage of households experiencing hunger has more than doubled in the last 10 years. This day of meal packing provides meals to local area food banks and pantries for distribution to local area families.

On Tuesday, September 11th, our staff in the Northern VA, DC and Maryland area came together for the AARP Meal Pack Challenge. This challenge is a day of service in an effort to combat hunger among the country’s seniors and to raise awareness about senior poverty. The challenge was to pack more that 2.5 million meals that will be donated to local area food banks and distributed to seniors in need.

Gene Ridenour, another one of our employees, took time off to participate in a mission trip to Clayhole, KY. This mission provided food and clothing for over 120 families, church foyers were re-modeled, and a shed was built. Just another example of lending a hand to support those communities that need a helping hand.
