Reston, June 12, 2020 – With the pandemic causing school closures in our community and impacting our local students, Food for Neighbors shifted their support by not only continuing to provide food for students but also assisting with weekend food distribution. Students are still receiving breakfast and lunch via Grab & Go programs and school buses delivering meals. They have also incorporated giving school social workers and parent liaisons grocery store gift cards to give to their students and families struggling. With our contribution, we were able to support several students and their families in this trying time.

A note from Food for Neighbors:

I just wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your incredibly generous donation to Food For Neighbors. Partners like you not only allow us to buy food, supplies and grocery store gift cards as needed, but you give us encouragement as we continue our work. With the pandemic, school closures and many people out of work, the needs of our community have grown exponentially. Your donation has allowed us to meet those needs and for that we are grateful!

Thank you so much and we hope you stay well.
