Community Outreach

Amyx is a company which believes in giving back to our local communities. One of our corporate quality objectives is to advance the well-being of the communities in which we work and live through contributions of time, financial, and mentoring support. We encourage all of our employees to participate in not only corporate sponsored functions but in their individual contributions to their communities as well.

Every year, Amyx works with several organizations to provide our support, whether it be through time volunteering or donating:

Women Giving Back – A Sterling, VA based organization that extends a helping hand to women and children in crisis, offering them a vital first step towards stability through the provision of quality clothing, all at no cost. At HQ, we spend the month of March collecting clothing and shoes for women and children followed by a day in the facility supporting their warehouse.

Back To School Drives– Whether it’s donating school essentials like backpacks, notebooks, pens, or any other supplies, Amyx empowers young minds, giving them the tools they need to thrive in the classroom. Our back-to-school program has rapidly increased over the years to a nationwide initiative now supporting various states including DC, Utah, Colorado, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

Red Cross Comfort Kits– Amyx partners with the Red Cross as part of their outreach to veterans to build 100 comfort kits and distributed to homeless shelters nationwide during the month of November.

Adopt-a-Family – Developed to help children and families who are in need of clothing, food, and toys during the holiday season. Every winter, Amyx works with Fairfax County Department of Family Services to adopt 3 families and fulfill the wish lists of 6-8 kids.

Food for Others– In our nation’s capital, the high cost of living forces many families who are struggling to make ends meet to choose between spending money for food, or on other basic needs such as housing and healthcare. Since 1995, Food for Others has been helping many of these families. At Amyx, we collect food donations to support hungry families in the DMV.

Wreaths Across America – Wreaths Across America is an American nonprofit organization established to distribute wreaths on veterans’ graves in military cemeteries. Every year, Amyx employees gather at Arlington Nation Cemetery in DC and Jefferson Barracks Veteran Cemetery in MO to lay wreaths.

Past Initiatives have also included:

Meals for a Million – O’Fallon, IL employees organized and led by Judy Bratcher participated in this community wide event to produce one million dried non-perishable meals that were distributed to those in need in the St. Louis area and international countries.

AARP Summer of Service to Seniors Meal Pack Challenge – DC Metro employees organized and led by Gayle Rankine participated in this event on the National Mall to pack 1.5 million meals for our local seniors in need.

Amyx also has a Community Outreach Committee to increase our presence in the communities in which we reserve.

Amyx employees are also active in both professional and community groups. Our employees are members of groups like NDIA, Professional Services Council, SECAF, TiE-DC, NCMS, PMI, and AFCEA.

Thank you to all our employees who reach out throughout the year in their local communities.
