William Schaefer is Amyx’s President, Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors.

As President and CEO, Mr. Schaefer leads both strategic and tactical planning for the execution of all Amyx IT and Management consulting services. This includes identifying target markets, establishing strategic partnerships, managing corporate revenue and profitability, and leading capture activities. Mr. Schaefer’s primary focus is realizing Amyx’s mission of exceeding customer expectations and institutionalizing across all Amyx service offerings a quality program based on CMMI and ISO standards. His recent focus has helped lead the transformation of Amyx’s service offerings dedicated to cybersecurity and mission assurance, large scale IT integration projects using agile principles, and sophisticated financial analytics services across both Federal Civilian and Defense sectors.

In 2012, Mr. Schaefer managed Amyx’s Defense line of business providing support across all facets of business including program operations, customer relationship management, and business development. From 2006 to 2012, he served in several roles as Program Manager overseeing Amyx’s Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) major IT transformation initiatives such as the Integrated Data Environment (IDE) deployment. The IDE deployment established DLA’s Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) enabling services and metadata discovery, interoperability, and accessibility across the DLA and DoD Enterprise which helped drive down millions of dollars in software development costs for users of DLA data.

From 2004 – 2006, Mr. Schaefer served as Tenix Pty Ltd’s Business Development Manager for its North American market. As one of Australia’s largest defense contractors, Tenix brought on Mr. Schaefer to develop the Strategic Plan for introducing its Crossbow® data management, data visualization, and Business Intelligence software suite. Working from Tenix’s Melbourne, Sydney, and US-based office in Atlanta, this required extensive international coordination with the United States and Australian Government agencies, customers, and commercial partners which proved successful in introducing the new IT solutions within the United States Marine Corps, Department of Homeland Security, United States Navy, and through CRADAs with academia.

Mr. Schaefer began his career as a member of Georgia Tech Research Institute’s Logistics and Maintenance Applied Research Center (LandMARC) contributing to the development of an award-winning Integrated Sensor Radio Frequency Identification Device (ISRFID) technology that provided condition based logistics capabilities to the United States Navy. Under a license from GTRI, Mr. Schaefer helped start up a Service Disable Veteran Owned Small Business, Cobalt Technology, where he held responsibilities developing the company’s Business Plan, engaging strategic partners, and helping realize revenue targets.

Mr. Schaefer is a Project Management Professional (PMP), holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the George Washington University’s School of Business, and received his undergraduate degree from the United States oldest all-male college, Hampden-Sydney College (1775).
